Turvecontrol- hankkeen koekentän perustaminen

Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena on tutkia Turvecontrol-hankkeen kenttäkokeen perustamista mahdollisimman tarkasti vaihe vaiheelta. Kenttäkokeen perustamisen tutkimisessa perehdyttiin erityisesti oekentän salaojitukseen ja koeruutujen perustamiseen. Teoriaosuudessa käsitellään turvemaiden viljelyä, sekä salaojitusta. Salaojituksessa keskitytään erityisesti turvemaiden säätösalaojitukseen, sillä Turvecontrol-hanke tutkii juuri säätösalaojituksen hyötyjä turvemaalla. Opinnäytetyössä perehdytään myös aiempaan säätösalaojituskokeeseen, joka toteutettiin Mouhijärvellä. Tämän kokeen tulokset innostivat uuteen samantapaiseen kokeeseen isommassa mittakaavassa.

Päädyin tekemään opinnäytetyön tästä aiheesta, sillä koe suoritetaan isäni omistamalla lohkolla. Lisäksi aihe on hyvin ajankohtainen, koska turvemaiden päästöjä yritetään vähentää monilla keinoilla ilmastonmuutoksen hillitsemiseksi.

Koeojitus osoittautui erittäin tehokkaaksi kuivatusteholtaan. Pelto alkoi kuivua niin hyvin, että kenttäkokeen jälkeen voi harkita lohkolla jopa viljanviljelyä. Kenttäkokeen perustaminen tehtiin myös huolella ja ammattitaidolla, joten kokeen tuloksetkin tulevat olemaan tarkkoja. Kenttäkokeen perustamisen tutkimisessa onnistuttiin hyvin. Pystyin kertomaan jokaisesta
perustamisen vaiheesta yksityiskohtaisesti.

ABSTRACT
The thesis aims to explore the establishment of a field test for the Peatcontrol project as closely as possible step by step. In the study of the establishment of the field experiment, the study concentraded on the drainage of the test field and test panes establishment.

The theory section deals with peatland cultivation, as well as drainage. Drainage is particularly focused on peatland regulation drainage as the Peatcontrol project is examining the benefits of adjustment drainage on peatland. The thesis also looks into the previous adjustment drainage test, which was carried out in Mouhijärvi. The results of this
experiment inspired for a new similar experiment on a bigger scale.

I ended up doing a thesis on this topic, because the experiment will be carried out on a block owned by my father. In addition, the subject is very topical, because there are many ways to reduce peatland emissions to curb climate change.

Test ditching proved to be very effective in drainage power. The field started to dry so well, that after a field test, one can consider even cereal cultivation in the area. The establishment
of a field test was also done with care and professionalism, so the results of the experiment will be accurate. There was a great success in researching the establishment of the field experiment. I was able to tell you about each stage of the establishment in detail.
